I copy well from pictures while using my colors and add very little personal touch of my own :( But on culinary world, I rarely cook with recipes, Just add the spice and herb my heart and eyes says yes to- in the kitchen. I ve realized for good that some recipes which, if not followed, does not go well with the taste buds.
Here I go first with Suji Halwa, I usually make during festival -The very basic recipe... I go wrong adding less sugar.
____________Ingredients:
Suji/ Semolina - 1/2 cup
Sugar - min. 1/4 cup
Ghee - 1/4 cup
1 cup water
1/4 tsp cardomom powder (elaichi)
2 tsp of Raisins and Sliced Almonds
Method:
- Mix sugar and water in a pan and heat the mixture over low flame. Boil and set aside.
- Heat the ghee in a kadhai. Add suji/ semolina, raisins and cardamom powder(elaichi).
- Fry until it is very lightly golden brown in color.
- Constantly stir the mixture to ensure even browning.
- Add sugar water (syrup) and mix rapidly to prevent formation of lumps.
- Cook over medium heat until the water gets completely absorbed / evaporated.
